Subtle Details: Try Patterned Tights

Subtle Details: Try Patterned Tights

As we ease into fall (with this most divine weather!) I find it exciting to think about what I'll wear in the cooler months to come. Part of that excitement involves thinking of small ways to add a little extra interest to an outfit.

This fall, I'm inspired by Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, to try a pair of sheer, patterned tights.

Swedish Stockings, a company that prides itself on taking a more sustainable approach to manufacturing hosiery, has a great pair of seamed stockings:

I can't find a pair of eco-friendlier lace tights, and since I don't believe in skimping on style for the sake of sustainability, I say the next best option is to invest in a good pair meant to last a long time, such as these ones from Wolford:

Also, while we're on the subject of sustainability, the next time you need to get rid of a pair of tights, rather than throw them away, No Nonsense has a recycling program that is so easy to use. Just print out a mailing label and ship them your old panty hose- any brand, in any condition. You can read more about the program here.
